In San Vito lo Capo, every year, in September, there is a big party: an explosion of flavours, culture and competition!

 

The Cous Cous Fest is the great yearly summer festival of San Vito lo Capo, which celebrates cous cous, a unique and characteristic dish of the Trapani area. A food, which is the fruit of the dominations of the past, especially the Arabic one. Couscous in Trapani is prepared with "frozen" semolina and fresh fish, but the winning idea of ​​this event lies in the competition between chefs from all over the world who rework the dish, offering their personal reinterpretations, which are clearly influenced by the country's trends and origins. At the end of the event, the winning country is proclaimed.

In addition to the gastronomic competitions and the cooking shows that fill the busy days, the Cous Cous Fest also offers pleasant moments of entertainment and, above all, great evening concerts with singers from the international music scene. Just think that, over the years, artists of the caliber of Mahmood, Alvaro Soler, Fiorella Mannoia, Caparezza, Pino Daniele, Edoardo Bennato, Giusy Ferreri, Noemi have alternated.
